During a recent training session on Win2K Share and NTFS permissions, I ran into a problem wnere I was able to open a file created In Wordpad on two servers at the same time. After having a user attempt to edit the file on the remote machine and tryto save the changes, we recieved an error message on the remote machine. “An unexpected error has occured” After closing the file on both servers, we reopened it and found it to be BLANK!
Being surprised at the ability to open a file for editingin two places at once surprised me to say the least, and having the files contents disapear added to the confusion.
applying service pack 2 made no difference.
If anyone can offer an explanation or a solution to this situation you have my thanks in advance

PS the computer on which the file resides is setup as a DC with the other server being a member server
