Multiple IPs on NIC

By k4k ·
One of the network adapter on my server has 2 IP address . with Ipconfig command i see two IPs listed. i would like to use a command or a tool which shows which is the primary IP which is actually assigned to the adapter & which IP among these 2 is secondary/temporary

Any command/tools available.??

hi friend
first of all there is no concept of primary or secondary ip if we have not configured any services which seperate the two assigned ips. I mean like in load balancing we have a IP assigned to the NIC and a second ip runs the Load balancing service.
But, if no special configuration is cionfigured all IP's are primary(no secondary)

Generally, the second IP is used for load balancing, and is not something you should really be concerned with. Unless you have a high traffic rate and need to configure it to run with Load Balancing.
