Multiple pc's on cable network

By gknicks71 ·
I have cable modem internet, and I have a linksys router. I need to be able to share the internet on all my computers in the house. How can I do this? With my dsl I just plugged the other computers into the router and they detected proxy settings and went online, it is not that easy with cable modem.

It shouldn't be that more difficult with the cable modem. Check the instructions that came with the linksys and configure it for the setup on your cable modem. If your PC has hard coded setting from the ISP of the cable modem then you will need to clone the settings from the PC to the router and run DHCP to connect up your PCs. Most broadband routers can do this.
