I have a problem where the server only has 10 CAL’s and Server Manager shows users logged in multiple times thereby using up all the CAL’s- it shows no files open but if you kill that user it kills all other processes that user has open on the othersession they are logged into.. Any ideas

A single user connecting to the server will use several connections, all for what seems like only one connection.
You need to buy more CALs.
10 CALs will support only 3 or 4 concurrent connections.

Another solution is to convert to “Per Seat” CAL licensing – each workstation would need a CAL, but that CAL would be valid for unlimited connections to unlimited servers. Harder to manage, but far more bang for the buck.

I believe you could convert your existing CALs to per-seat licenses, but you should talk with your Microsoft reseller to confirm this.
