Multiple windows boot options when loading/ delayed boot

By jdm1998ex ·
I was wondering if there was any way to remove this option. When I start my pc and it goes to boot into windows it asks me if I want to load Windows XP professional or Windows XP install (I went to repair windows and canceled and its been there ever since) I just don't want to have to worry about hitting the up arrow every time I boot my pc.

Here is a second problem I am experiencing as well. Everytime I start my pc it acts as if it is going to boot them 3 seconds later it powers down then 3 seconds it powers back up automatically and goes through fine. What could be causing this?

Edit Boot.ini

Carefully.
The second event is interesting, could be related, could be a bios thing.

Windows repair

What was original issue that you were trying to fix with Windows RePair?

Editing the boot.ini will get rid of list of available OS's but probably won't address the re/bootup issue.
