    Multiple wireless keyboards conflict?

    Locked

    by scifiman ·

Anybody here using wireless keyboards or mice? I am considering getting a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse(transmits via RF)for my son’s room upstairs. If I get same for the PC downstairs about 20 feet away through the walls and nearby open stairs, will they have a conflict? Or is the RF signal extremely localized?

As an aside, how long do the AA batteries last?

    Thanks!

No they only work upto about 3 metres and if they did conflict you have 2 seperate channels on most RF mice and keyboards batteries last ages you would be better off buying rechargable batteries

Logitechs online FAQs mention that maximum range is about 6 ft. for the majority of their products.

The FAQs mention that for cordless optical devices (mice), batteries generally last about 2 months. For most other cordless devices, batteries can last as long 6 months. Your mileage may vary based on your actual usage of your cordless devices.

RF range and battery usage for cordless devices will generally remain fairly close across manufacturers as they all use essentially the same technology.
