Mundane tasks?

By BarryGill ·
I am busy at the moment compiling a list of the mundane day to day tasks that an administrator of a messaging system has to perform and am looking for some views on the subject.

The types of things that I see are: -
-Releasing mail from spam quarantines
-Finding messages that users have deleted and restoring them
-Verifying that last nights backups have been successful
-Checking system logs for signs of problems

What other message platform day to day tasks drive you mad?

would you consider simulated failures and testing of DR to be a mundane task (even though it typically occurs infrequently)

As in 'disaster recovery'? No, I wouldn't consider DR testing (or any failure / emergency simulation) a mundane task.
