My annual "NASCAR Fantasy Racing' invitation.

With the NASCAR season kicking off on Feb. 26th, it's time for my annual open invitation to race fans who want to waste a little time and kill a few brain cells.

We're a small league of around 25 or so who play for bragging rights and little else. In brief, you pick 5 drivers every week and receive the points those drivers earn in that weekend's race, but you can only use each driver nine times.

If you're still interested, you can find more details at ' www switchracing com ', or e-mail me at ' palmetto at switchracing period com '.

Our equivalent to your V8 Supercars.

A former V8 champion, Marcos Ambrose, has been racing in the US NASCAR series for the last three or four years.

I just wanted to give you a reference point. One of the big differences is NASCAR goes round in ovals (mostly), V8 goes round in squiggly shapes. F1 chooses the winner before they start

Nostradamus identified all the winners centuries ago. For example:

Within in the realm of Ecclestone
Not a cobbler, but Maker of Shoe
Thrice, and thrice, and yet again
The Rampant Horse runs o'er and through

Pretty clear to me.

I played for 2 years in the Switch Racing league and had a ball, but found it to be a bit too much actual work, I will be following NASCAR this year as always and my prediction, Tony will not win this year but perhaps next year, and Carl Edwards will take 2012.

Well right and wrong, Tony did not win but made a 9th place finish

Carl also did not win and did not even make the chase, finishing 15th, it was Brad Keselowski taking the championship.

Congratulations to Brad and Roger, for Roger it has been a long time coming, For Brad, a young gun making his first victory, looks like he will be a serious contender in 2013.

I came in third this year.

Widowmaker checked out starting in May. He racked up enough points to lock up the Switch Racing title before the Homestead green flag dropped, needing only to submit his final team by the deadline.

"Wait'll next year!"
