I would also advise you to remove your email address from a Public Forum such as TR, unless you want to generate new 'friends' whenever someone uses Google.

A broken CD, huh?

Not much good for anything except stripping wallpaper, they're superb for that!

.... with my own eyes. I couldn't believe it when I watched him do it. But, a teckie friend of mine broke a CD in half on purpose, taped it back together again and IT WORKED!!! The dang drive read it!!! Installed a game from it even. Of course, that was back in the days of single and double speed drives before they even got up to quad speed. Today's drives spin so fast, I doubt it would work.

Little wheels on the front fascia of optical drives?

You could use it to speed up or slow down the rotation speed.

It was almost like a 'scratch wheel' on a record turntable (But not as cool - I've been told to say!)

You'd have to duck to prevent getting impaled by flying pieces of plastic.

At the very minimum, it would shread the guts of the drive before the facia fell off and it puked itself clean!

No, I'm only kidding, but I agree that it's not very wise to post an email address in a public forum.
