My CD-ROM is not working

By egutierrez ·
I get an erro message saying, "The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block." I don't know what this means. I've tried several different cd-roms, but none work. I've tried several different troubleshooting techniques, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or do I have to contact the manufacturer?

Have you tried a different ribbon cable or the other controller? Do the cd's work in another pc?
What is the brand of cdrom and what operating system are you using?
Good luck

The error message may be due to dirty heads on the CD ROM,try cleaning it
Now check the Device Manager and see if their is an exclamation mark next to the cd-romand then try reloading the drivers

Check the Cable inside the case to make sure that they are installed properly or try switching the cable
