My computer doesn’t shutdown when “Turn Off’ is pressed.

Hi Everyone

Recently i installed Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. Everything works fine but when turning the system off it shows the ‘Windows is shutting down…’ splash screen and freezes. After applying ‘Service Pack 2’ it made some change, now when turning the system off the monitor, mouse & keyboard all shutdown beside the system tower. What I’m noticing is the hard-disk, heat sink & system fans keep running and don’t shut down. I believe the problem is software because before installing WIN XP Pro I had WIN Vista running which worked without any problems. I’ve checked the ‘Power Options’ in control panel but everything looks like its configured properly. Can anyone help with my problem?

Thanks

Marc
