My Confession

By tintoman ·
Guys I am a sinner
Alright alright I know this isn't really a question but I thought I would share this with anyone who gives a damn.
The other day I advised somebody on here that to have 2 hard drives fitted to a pc each with identical copies of Windows XP loaded and using the same license key was probably illegal and should not be done.
I have researched this a bit more and it turns out that maybe it isn't illegal at all as long as both (or however many you like I suppose) only use one CPU or so says the EULA for Win XP home edition.
That said does it follow that my impression that each installation of virtual pc needs it's own license is a load of old crap?

The M$ License for Windows ties the Application to the Hardware

by OH Smeg In reply to My Confession

So you can install it as many times as you like on the same machine though realistically 23 would be the upper limit as you run out of Drive Letters by then.

As for the other from my understand Yes it's a load of Old Crap. :0

But with anything relating to Licensing and M$ it's always better to ere on the side of caution. The result of M$ finding something that they don't like isn't worth the cost involved.

Now 300 times saying Linux Will Kill You

and 800 times Open Source is way too expensive. here is the M$ proof.

Then you need to believe that M$ is Best. Because they told you so. :^0
