My hotmail doesn’t open through the messenger!!

Hi, I am new here and this is my first post!!
Recently I have installed the SP2 and since then when I sign messenger I try to open my Hotmail and the web page doesn’t open. But, if I open the internet explorer browser and then (with this open) open the hotmail through the messenger it opens. It is very strange.. It never happens before!!
