my ie will not browse while running aol

after logging on to aol ie will not open any pages. it worked before and now it does not.
I.m running my system through a netgear router with a cAT 5 firewall.After opening ie I type in a web address and nothing it say s the usual cannot find page ect. I have checked all settings and nothing has changed.I,m running win xp pro.any help would be appriciated.

Have you checked the LAN settings on IE explorer to see it they are on Automatically detect settings.

If your getting DSL\cable from somebody else (ie, RoadRunner,Bellsotuh,Comcast) you should configure your router to connect to your ISP instead of going through AOL. If this is your case you might wanna cancel AOL since you are paying for two Internet connections.

Another thing since you have AOL. AOL only provides true tech support with Linksys routers. They wont support you if you have anything else. Some routers from Netgear need to have a custom setting for an AOL connection which may mean upgrading your firmware. I would get on Netgear's page and and check to see if your router has support\or is compatible with AOL.
