My laptop looks like the backlight is out but when replaced no help

My Hp L2000 screen when blank..thought it was backlight blown out but when replaced it didnt help..On booting up the Hp LOGO lights up on screen and then goes back to nothing..can barely see the icons if looking at the right angle..The place reccomended a new laptop. my computer is just over a year and this problem occurred 15 days after warrenty. If anyone has heard of this problem feel free to save my computer from external monitor jail....

Backlight

The backlight is driven from a DC to DC converter circuit that is part of the systemboard. Some units have a daughter board that plugs in near the power adapter plugin. Check the ground connection that goes thru the hinge area.

thanks mjd420nova... i will have to have someone take a look at that..personally i dont feel comfortable enough to do this but thanks for the advice.
