ok. i have been having all kinds of hardware problems lately. this time it’s my Toshiba M55 laptop (Windows XP Pro, 1.73ghz P4, 512MB RAM) that i use for school. all of a sudden, when i boot it up, the screen just starts to glow brighter and brighter and then starts to turn colors. its actually kinda pretty but its no good since i need to do work on it and not look at pretty colors lol. the first couple times, i was able to get it back to normal by blindly putting the computer in stand-by mode and when i would wake it up, it would be fine. but now i cant to anything to get a usable picture back.
so here’s the run down. it turns on fine. boots the OS fine. sound works fine. i can even see faint, vertical scan lines when i move the mouse pointer. it seems everything is working as usual except for the weird colors the screen is making hindering my ability to see anything at all on the screen.
ive never heard of a computer doing this and i would hate to ship it off if it was something simple, so im asking you guys if anyone has any idea what is going on with my laptop? any help would be greatly appreciated.
