my macbook cannot see my pc laptop on my home network

Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could help me. I have a wireless home
network setup with the following components.:

1)Livebox (Orange) wireless router
2)PC Laptop running Windows XP home edition service pack 2
(Compaq
presario with athlon chipset)
3)Macbook (intel core duo) running Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger)
4)Idyl music server connected via ethernet cable to the Livebox
router.

I looked up how to make my macbook visable and went through all a
guide i found on this website, i also ran the network wizard on the pc
laptop.
The result are as follows;

1) My PC Laptop sees the idyl server and the mac without any
problems
2)The MaCBOOK does see the idyl but the drive unmounts (though
easy
enough to reconnect), but Macbook cannot see the PC Laptop at all.
It does see the work group (MSHOME) but onl sees the idyl in the
workgroup. Even though
the work book on the laptop is set to MSHOME also.

I have tried using the smb:// thing on finder but i always get aerror
messae -36. When I look at the console log it says the following:
mount_smbfs: can’t get server address: syserr = Network is down
mount_smbfs: can’t get server address `HANA’:
Unknown host
mount_smbfs: can’t get server address: syserr = Network is down
mount_smbfs: can’t get server address `HANA’:
Unknown host
mount_smbfs: can’t get server address: syserr = Network is down.
Though I have successfully pinged the pc laptop from the macbook
terminal.

Can anyone help please
