Corrupt PST?

by Sven2157 In reply to My outlook shutsdown with ...

If you are not using an Exchange Server, and this is on your personal computer, then you could try to repair the file that stores your email. You will need to be familiar with Windows Explorer( Not Internet Explorer ).

With Outlook CLOSED, navigate to your Office installation location( usually: 'Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12' ), and locate the following file: SCANPST.exe. Do not worry if you cannot see the .EXE extension. Right click SCANPST.exe and choose 'Run as administrator'.

When that opens, navigate to your email PST file( usually located in: 'C:\Users\<YOUR_NAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook' ). Let the program scan and fix your email database.

Hope that helps! ;-)
