My PC keeps rebooting

By yazin_craz ·
After cleaning my PC desktop hardware, my PC keeps on rebooting. When i try to start on the safe mode, it will come a few lines of windows system32 appear. What can I do to recover my window Xp hard disk?
Currently I'm using my window 98 hard disk.
Thank You

if this cropped out in last few weeks, sounds like sasser worm?
do you have your xp installation cd? you can boot from that and access your system via the recovery console. but first download the fixsasser tool and the microsoft patch.
removal Tool is at: www.symantec.com
get sasser off, enable the xp firewall on your internet connection and get microsoft patch. instrurctions are on symantec's site...
run the tool on win98 also...

I'm assuming that you open the case and cleaned inside. I would open it back up and make sure all cards, cable, memory sticks, power plugs and CPU/Fan are all tightly in place. You're HD ribbon may have been loose, so when you changed the drive it would have corrected the problem. And if that's the case, you should be able to just put the XP drive back in and all will be good.

Good luck
Tim
