Disk Management - add volume

Assuming windows xp on the laptop?
Start by seeing if it shows up in Disk Management (right-click My Computer, pick Manage, then Disk Management.)
I bet you can see it on the right side. Find it, then right-click it and you should get an option to Import it. Then it'll show up in My Computer.
Here is a snippet from Windows help about it:
You can move multiple disks from different computers to another computer by installing the disks, opening Disk Management, right-clicking any of the new disks, and then clicking Import Foreign Disks. You can choose which disks from the group you want to add by clicking Select Disk.
