My SD Card is being weird

Ok, here’s the situation. I have a 16 GB microSD card. I used it in my Geeni security camera for a bit for external storage. The footage from the microSD card never be retrieved from the card and when I attempt to format the card in my iMac, there is still 2GB of storage being used on it. So, I remove the only folder on it, which appears to be my footage. I format it. And the footage folder returns!

I have tried formatting, using First Aid on the disk, flashing .imgs to the card. Nothing is working.

Either the model of the card doesn’t match, the camera doesn’t support it, or the SDcard doesn’t work. Maybe your camera need to a new SD card.

Your SD card may become RAW…

If you’re unable to completely format your SD card then there are chances that your SD card either become RAW or inaccessible. There are various reasons for this issue such as BIOS settings, USB data line, USB interface voltage variability, drive hidden issue or compatibility issue, etc. Whatever may be the reason, the end result is data inaccessibility or data loss.

You can try below options as a solution for this issue:

      1. Establish a connection between another system and USB Data Line to verify whether it is broken or not.
      2. Make sure the system and motherboard are compatible with each other
      3. Verify whether the USB interface voltage is up to the mark or not
      4. Use Disk Management to unhide the drive
      5. Ensure USB is enabled in Operating System as well as in BIOS

However, if you wish to recover your lost data from that corrupted SD card then you need to use a Data Recovery Software. There are lots of data recovery software options available such as Stellar Data Recovery, etc.

      Hope this will help you.
