Hope someone can help.
I have a HP compacq small form desk top computer and use Windows XP pro.
I have had to run the HP recovery programme a few months ago and lost a lot of files despite checking the option to save files.
The usb ports have been working after this but for a few weeks they have temperamental. Now they have stopped working altogether.
I have checked the device manager and there are no usb ports listed.
I have downloaded the driver updates on everything associated with my computer and system from HP website.
I have downloaded the chipset but cant see how to utilise this apart from trying to update the drivers in everything on device manager. None of the drivers have been updated as I get the ‘no better software found’ message.
Can anyone suggest how to get the motherboard to recognise the usb ports so i can use my printer etc?
