My XP Pro Boots with Monitor off......?

By slopok8225 ·
After install of Sp2 the computer goes thru the boot sequence with the monitor in standby yellow light mode. It does not turn on till the "Sign In Screen" is ready. It never did this prior to the install. Is there a way to get the computer to boot with the monitor on all the time?

I need to see that it is going thru the boot sequense and need to get F9 key to work and see it so I can check my BIOs settings.

Boot up after a SP install does take 10-15 mins to complete while it updates precache, registry etc
on first boot up. I would leave it alone until it has finished, then the login screen should appear.

Hi My concern wasn't the boot up. This is a continual problem since I installed Sp Pack 2 three months ago. My monitor shuts down to the yellow sleep mode and stays that way till the computer is completely booted to the sign in screen. This happens every single time.
Before Sp2 the monitor was on all the time and you could see the black DOS screen during boot up and watch the process from power on, to sign in. Now I am unable to see the process at all.

So my problem remains, that I cannot use my F9 key to stop the boot and go into any other modes ie; Safe, debug etc. I need to know why it shuts down and how to get it to stay on during boot up???
