MyDocuments redirection issue

By Computer Geek ·
I have a user profile who currently has their My Documents being redirected. We want to get it local again. We have checked and confirmed there are no group policies forcing a redirection. We have attempted to make the user an administrator and went into the properties tab of My Documents but it still won't allow us to switch locations. Any thoughs?

did you check if there are any local policies (run gpedit.msc on the local pc)

Also, does this happen for this user on another PC as well.
You can try changing it directly in the registry.
HKCU\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders.

Change the settings for the user folders there. If it changes back after a reboot you can be pretty sure a policy is somehow setting it.

How old is the unit?

Like it or not how much drive do you have available anymore?

How many boot copies do you have laying around in there occupy-ing space?
