We have a user with NT 4.0 Workstation and we are using Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition. We have other computers with similar configurations, without any errors generated.
This particular laptop, the user gets a bad command when NAV loads,then the yellow exclamation point appears on the taskbar on top of the shield, then it changes to a red circle with a slash through it. When the boot process is finished, the NAV CE looks fine and appears to be running fine; but it’s not.
Whenthis users shuts down, the computer hangs with errors from NAV (errors basically saying that NAV is already running). He has to end-task several times and his shutdown process is severely hampered by this.
He wants a fix; anyone encounter thisbefore?
Tried uninstalling NAV, clearing the registry of all instances of “Symantec”, and reinstalling it. No change whatsoever.
