Guys..
I am a newbie technician and have 2 problems if anybody can help me…
1stly I have just built a win2003 domain server using DHCP and as a DNS server i have not changed any of the domain group policy settings so it is ‘out the box’settings my problem is the XP machines i join the domain work fine no problem at all but the Vista machines are causing major headaches for me..if i join them to a domain they join no problem but then afer rbooting them maybe a couple of time they drop there DHCP leased IP address and will not get a new one..i cannot ipconfig /renew as they say i need elevation although i am administrator..if i delete their lease from the server then reboot the vista machine it still wont pick it up even though the server says it has leased one to that computer…
I dont really know alot about it but i m thinking maybe group policy security??????Like i said XP no problems at all but vista not like..is there a logicl reason for this?
Is there a group policy template tha i can use for vista for them to be able to access the domain properly? any help would be appreciative as im pulling me hair out
Thanks in advance
