By rs4612 ·
Since installing Jaton 3dforce2 mx-64 video card & nvidea adapter driver (dated 6/14/02)My nec multisync fp950 will NOT power down(go cold)in ANY win me power scheme. The only action that occurs is the screen will black out but the monitor remains on.DL the latest nec monitor driver,Monitor ipm Enabled or disabled.Result remained the same.Note:The monitor does shutdown properly using svga video adapter driver.Nec-mitsu&Jaton tech blame each other.

NEC monitors & Jaton video cards

I'd suggest that you place the Jaton card/and drivers in another computer with a different OS and see if the problem follows the video adapter and drivers (hardware issue). Or if the video adapter and drivers behave fine on another OS (software issue).

It sounds like the driver/card combination may not be compatible with Windows ME.

Well, from what you've said there, I'd have to conclude the problem is with the video card & driver. The monitor *does* power down using an alternative driver, so it's pretty clear that the monitor is functioning as it should. If you need definitiveproof, hook up a different monitor and see if it functions the same. If so, you can pretty much tell the Jaton support to stop pointing fingers and take the responsibility...unless it's some dark conspiracy by monitor builders everywhere to undermine the awesome Jaton video cards from ruling the world.

/sarcasm mode off

Now...are the drivers you are using the ones that came with your card....or the latest drivers? Have you tried alternative builds (earlier/later)? Have you checked to see if there are other nvidea drivers that may work?

Good luck...
