Need a bit of help please

have a bit of a problem with my desktop computer. First I took it apart by removing the Cd-Rom drive, Hard Drive and Floppy Drive because it was extremely dusty and I got fed up of hearing the fan making unusually loud noise. When I finished cleaning the drives i then took out the cpu attached to the heat sink because the fan was also dirty and the heat sink was totally filled with dust and dirt and also was extremely hot. I was using the computer before I took it apart and it was working fine. After putting everything together I plugged in the power cord, the system unit came on, the laser under the mouse came on, the lan cord light on the modem came on, the cpu fan came on also but the monitor didn’t nor the number lock light on the keyboard, if i try to take off the computer by holding in the power button it doesn’t turn off, to take it off I have to pull out the power cord. I dont think theres something wrong with the mother board or any of the drives and to ensure I didn’t leave out anything i removed everything and put them back together several times with the same result. Can you help out and make any suggestions if possible. Thanks in advance
