Hi everyone, this is my first post here!
I have an older server (Dell blade – unknown model)that is 4 hours away in one of our remote offices. The system volume is full and is out of free space (300mb free). I do not know what Raid this volume is using. The file storage is on a SATA array and don’t want to mess with the risk of data loss.
My question is, Can I add another scsi drive, add and rebuild the scsi array without loosing data. Of course I will backup everything before hand. I don’t want to rebuild the entire server due to time/possible data loss. Will the scsi controller add this newer, bigger drive and ADD it to the current array? or will i have to start over?
I don’t have much scsi experience and could use some tips and advice. Thank you in advance for your help!
