Need alternative to IMAIL Server

By fjaramillo ·
We currently use IMAIL and are not happy with their support and anti-spam feautures. Can someone recommend and alternative.
Our biggest problem is spam and how the server handles the spam. We also don't have a full time mail administrator.

We thought of using Mailsite (Rockliffe) but we were told that their anti-spam features are weak.
Our biggest factors are:cost,anti-spam, easy of use and cost.

Thanks
Nando

Have you thought about outsourcing your email?

I have found that companies without full time staff can save quite a bit of money outsourceing mail services. Many have spam and virus protection. It is even possible to get hosted exchange services as well.

Up to you.

Outsourcing is not an option.

Thanks

It sounds like your complaint is that your mail system doesnt handle spam very well.
IMail is a mail server - not a spam filter. We use Praetor (www.cmsconnect.com has a demo) for content filtering which then sends mail to Norton (on the same computer) for virus checking. Then that computer sends surviving mail to our mail server.
Specific products handle specific tasks. It isn't as cheap as an all-in-ione product but things arent getting any simpler where e-mail is concerned.

Not sure where you are located but look in to a company called INFLOW. They may be able to help you.

hmm , the cost factor again.

you can use mdaemon :
http://www.altn.com/Default.asp

but for the best email and antispam you can use www.microsoft.com/exchange and www.gfi.com.

you can find the infromation at www.exchnage.org
(see their antispam link.

However you will need someone to at least install exchange to get it up and running and mantaining it. since you dont have a full time it person, you might be better of with the daemon.
ANyway both have trials versions for 30 and 90 days.
