Need boot disk for W95 w/ cdrom support

Boot diskette for W95 w/ cd-rom support?
OK - I should know this, but my brain is coming up blank. I have a c: drive that NEEDS to be formatted and 95 re-installed. I have the cd, have a startup diskette, but no cd support when I boot from it. I put mscdex.exe on the floppy, and put in the autotexec.bat, but can't find a "cdrom.sys" file on the c: drive to put on the floppy for the config.sys to read .... HELP! (mitsumi cd-rom fx4830)

Need boot disk for W95 w/ cdrom support

See if you can locate a file like: nec_ide.sys OR sjcdapi.sys. Either one of these will work. There are others. Do a search on the internet or your cd's to find a cd-rom driver. At the www.download.com site on the internet, you can do a search for cdrom drivers and find several.

Place that file on the root of your bootable floppy.

Then edit the config.sys file (on the floppy) to something like....
DEVICE=A:\sjcdapi.SYS /D:OEMCD001
This will load the driver and assign it a name.

Then Edit the autoexec.bat file to something like this...
A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:OEMCD001
Do you see that you load mscdex.exe and assigne it the same name as the one in the config.sys file.
