Need help to install a USB Citizen CLP-621Z XP driver via a Script

By lewis68 ·
I have to deploy a USB Citizen CLP-621Z label printer on 100 XP workstation.

I would like help / tips on how to write a script that will silently install the USB drivers via a vb script

Well, for starters, are the drivers an MSI package, or an EXE file?

If it's a MSI, then the script could be a on-line script that simply has the installer options, such as /q of /qn for no user interface.

Thanks for helping me.

It's and exe.

I have copied the content of the driver folder to the C drive into the Citizen folder.

Then from a command prompt I change to the Citizen folder

Then I launch this command

DriverWizard.exe install /name:"Citizen CLP-621Z" /model:"Citizen CLP-621Z" /port:"USB001" /default

The label printer get install on the USB001 port but there is a major problem. I can not define a new paper size or edit any paper size. I am stock with 0 width and 0 height and it's impossible to add or edit these settings.

I have tried it normally with the wizard and I get a complete installation.

I need to deploy on 100 PC and I am trying to avoid to have to rebuild the image to do so.

I am running a script to add additionnal software and the script is a charme.

Thanks again.

Most likely the application is adding some registry entries

I would use a utility like Uninstaller Pro, SandBoxie, or even RegMon to see what registry changes the installation makes on the PC.

From there you could export the registry keys as .reg files and then apply them to workstations.
