Need help to see which A7N8X MB I got

By ultimamarket2001 ·
Alright, im not sure which A7N8X I have. On my motherboard it only says A7N8X. My MB has Onboard Lan. Does that mean I have the Deluxe one? I don't think any other of the A7N8X's have Onboard Lan. Can anyone confirm this? Here is a site that may help. http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/mbindex.htm#socketa

Also looking at pictures of the A7N8X's at ASUS website, the Deluxe is the only board with 2 blue RAM slots and 1 Black. Mine also has 2 blue and 1 black. Does this confirm that I have the deluxe board?

But, in all of those pictures besides the Regular A7N8X there is a yellow port right above the 2nd set of USB ports. Mine does not have any yellow port...

It appears that yours is A7N8X, which supports dual channel memory.

It seems all A7N8X type MB have onboard LAN. A7N8X-E Deluxe has two.

To take advantage of dual channel memory, I recommend you install two (or three) same brand, model, and size of memories. Two sticks of 256MB are better than one stick of 512MB.
Also, it is good idea to synchronize your CPU, MB, and RAM speed. This means if your CPU is XP2000+, for example, you set MB FSB to 133MHz, and install DDR266. DDR 333 or DDR400 would not make your system faster. Sometimes, they make the system unstable, especially DDR400. If you have XP2800+, you set MB FSB to 166MHz and install DDR333.
When you install two sticks of RAM, install one in one of two blue sockets (socket 1 or 2) and the other in blue (socket 3).

Can you be more specific of yellow port? If you see it in the manual, please let me know the page number and so on.

Please add a comment if you need more information or help.

The second RAM should be in the Black socket not Blue.

The MB FSB should be set to 166MHz for XP2600+ and XP2800+. The right RAM type for both CPUs is DDR333.
I would not recommend mixing DDR333 and DDR266. You should install two sticks of same type and size for efficiency and stability. The third one could be different size.
One stick of RAMs should be installed in either socket 1 or 2 (Blue colors) and the other in socket 3 (Black).
In other words, you should use socket 1 & 3 or socket 2 & 3. If you installed RAMs in socket 1 & 2, you are not dual channeling.

My color description was wrong.
The memory sockets (or slots) are colored as Socket 1 Black, Socket 2 Blue, and Socket 3 Blue.
So you installed your RAMS in Socket 2 & 3. This is fine. However, I recommend you install two sticks of same size and type (DDR333).

I have a XP2600+ and have one 512mb DDR333 and one DDR333 256
The ram is in the 2 blue slots, what should I set my FPS to. Right now its set to what gets my Proccessor the fastest.
