Need help with Cd-RW, Drivers, etc.

By ggraziano ·
I recently decided to upgrade from NTI's CD Maker 6.5 to Media Maker 8. The Uninstall/reinstall process either corrupted drivers or registry pointers, and resulted in Windows XP Pro not recognizing either CD drive. I found what I thought was the solution in a forum, that involved deleting a couple of registry keys, re-booting, and allowing XP to put the correct keys back. That seemed to work, as the Device Manager was error-free. However Media Maker will not burn a CD, and Windows Media player 11 insists I must first "plug in a device" before it can do same. Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Any assistance would be most appreciated!

On your CD drive from within "My Computer".
Navigate to the "Recording" Tab and make sure that "Enable CD Recording on this device" is checked.

See how you go with that.
Good luck.
