Need Help with Detecting Hidden Malware in My System

Hi everyone! I recently noticed some suspicious activity on my computer – random pop-ups and performance lags. I’ve tried a few malware scans, but they don’t seem to catch anything. Does anyone have recommendations for tools or techniques to find hidden malware that may bypass traditional scanners?

A few questions
– What pop-ups exactly?
– What malware scans did you try?
– Any unexpected program or service shown in Task Manager? Does it stop if you end those?
– Does it also happen if you boot into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Internet?

Two methods to solve the issue without all the work trying to find and remove it:
– If it only happens recently, System Restore back to when all was fine, might solve this issue. That’s worth a try. You might want to do this is on a clone of your system disk to see if it helps, if you would lose a lot of other things.
– Do do a clean install of Windows. Be sure you have a good backup of all your data and can reinstall all apps. You might like to do this on a clone of your system disk, what makes it somewhat easier to get all your data back.

Keep in mind that malware doesn’t likely happen all by itself. It is possible that the OP unknowingly download something malicious. To get targeted help, the OP needs to share much more information as mentioned by kees_b.
