My partner and best friend is what is known as a “Walker Stalker”. He follows us around for 3 consecutive days and supports breast cancer charity walkers. He spends 3 days in a really bad hat, driving a truck I paint and hang pink ribbons all over, and cheers for walkers- each of whom raise a minimum of $2200 for the privilege of walking 60 miles in 3 days.
We are not allowed, for safety reasons, to use a personal music device during the walk. Last year, there were about 3000 of us and using a personal music device may keep you from being able to hear the Safety folks and what is going on around you.
Our safety folk and many supporters will bring boom boxes or a really loud car stereo system and play music for us- which we really appreciate. Dance music when you have walked 10 miles can be just the pick up you need to walk another 10.
So my favorite Walker Stalker is trying to come up with a play list of songs that he can put on his iPod and play during the 3 Day in 2008.
We have a few already- 500 Miles, Right Now, Chain of Fools, I Walk the Line… but we need more.
In order to keep him from going bats, the longer the play list is, the better.
So what are your favorites? What songs lift your spirits and keep you going? What do you dance to, even when you don’t feel like dancing?
