We just took over an office. We are looking for a software that will tell us what programs are installed currently on the machines. Thanks for the help :-)

I was in a similar position earlier this year. There is a great backup software called Connected TLM, $220 per computer. It does three great things, one, it automatically backs up user files, two, it allows you to remotely support users, three (and relevant to your question) it performs hardware and software audits. Once you install Connected on those computers, the program does an automatic audit then allows you to run reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on what programs users are adding to theircomputers. So you can run an initial audit then be updated by reports thenafter.
do a net search for mypcinfo I think they have a trial version available but for the total costs it might be worth it to purchase the software to try if no trial version is available.
it does both a hardware/software inventory. only costs about $800 for the company. (not pc)
