We currently have 426 networked printers running on redundant servers (2) in a cluster environment on Windows Server 2003. We’re switching to Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 and they want me to replace my current system to a new Hyper-V Guest single virtual server with no redundancy. Looking for research or information with the pros and cons for this as I am fairly new to print server management, and no redundancy scares the heck out of me. I work at a HelpDesk and people get real cranky when they can’t print! Any/All ideas where I might begin my research will be greatly appreciated.
