I don't think there is a way to backdoor this, but if you are on a Windows 2000 network, here is what you can do.

1. Login to the Laptop as the Domain Administrator. By default in Windows 2000, this account is in the Local Admin group.

2. You can then go to the Local Users and Groups utility and change the Administrator account password by right clicking it and choosing set password, it won't ask you for the old one so you don't need to know what it is.

3. If you don't have access toa Windows 2000 domain, then you are sort of out of luck. I would backup the data and redo the PC at that point.

4. One thing to note is that you can't lock the Admin account, so you can keep trying passwords till you get the correct one.

Hopefully this helps you.

LC3 is the best version of the password auditing and recovery application - try this:

First way is to hack the Windows to make an user - administrator.
For example getadmin.exe or iiscrack but this is not a good way, but is quick.

A good one is
The Offline NT Password Editor

Boot up your computer and when it says "Starting Windows <version>...", press F8, and choose Safe mode MS-DOS. Open up an MS-DOS editor and look at c:\windows\system.ini and you can see a heading "[PasswordList]" or something like that. Then you will see a user name with an equals sign then the password file for that user. Now go back into dos and delete the file that corresponds to the user you want to access. Once you are back in windows, you will need to type in as new password for that user.
