Need to delete files in a Folder created by Norton.

By tatwh59 ·
I have a Folder that was created by Norton Systemwworks; these are filess that were deleted. I have attempted to remove them but I receive an error the reads "Cann't delete file. Cann't read from source disk or file."

I've tried to remove with a DOS command, used Norton's removal tool. I've uninstalled the program; file still remains. Norton's software tech(s)have attemted to fix the problem.

The folder is taking up over 65% of my hard drive; I need to be able to get my hard drive space back - Nothing seems to be able to remove the files.

Any sugggestion???

What version of Windows and which System Works

Is this on?

If it's XP you need to Boot Intro Safe Mode to remove the Files in that Folder and possibly the Folder as well. Also you may need to edit the Registry as well to stop some of the Norton's Files being loaded.

Have you also checked for Infections as your description sounds like a Infection of some kind and isn't a normal Norton's item.
