i am new to this but my hard drive just crashed and now I have to get a new one. I lost all my data so I have been looking into info on setting up a raid 1 array. I am a little confused though. I get that I will need 2 hdd’s and a raid controller because my pc doesnt have one. My question is, is there compatibility issues with the raid controller and my pc and between the controller and hdd’s? How will I know if a certain controller will work in my pc and what hard drives will work. I am looking at simple raid controllers on ebay and I have been looking at wd caviar hdd’s on amazon. will this work or do I need to see if they will be compatible. I have a compaq presario 6420nx amd processor. And how do I go about setting them both up from new and putting windows on them?
