Net conn swicht plugged-unplugged.

Hi! I have a Compaq Laptop with Windows XP Home Ed., that was working fine, but suddenly the Network icon in Systry begin to show a message with plugged/unplugged text. I try changing the cables, drivers, connecting directly to the swicht and to the router, cleaning the metallic contacts, but nothing help. Any ideas?
