Net Logon fails to start automatically

i have a Compaq ML350 file server running windows 2000. lately, when i restart the system, the Net Logon service(service schedule to start automatically)does not start automatically. this service used to start automatically and stop right after the server crashed due to a faulty power supply. now, i have to manually start the Net Logon service. is there a way to fix this problem.
