Net Use Permissions

By Rocket3500 ·
Why can't a domain user execute a net use command? (A domain administrator can execute a net use command. a local administrator cannot execute a net use command.) when the command is executed the following error occurs: authenication is requested. it asks for a username, then a password. once entered it says access denied.

A local administrator has no rights on a domain, therefore cannot use the net use command.

i understand that a local administrator does not have domain rights. i am trying to get my domain users the ability to use the net use command to communicate with 16 bit programs.

Check the computer or server that you are trying to connect to has the right privileges set for domain users. Also try mapping the users with a login script.
