NetBios Interface Service

By Jason.Rohr ·
Event ID 7000
Netbios Interface Service failed to start due to the following error: The system could not find the specified file. We applied some services packs a while ago and had all kinds of problems. This started after the service pack incident. The messenger service will not start also I get an error saying "Cannot start the messenger service on local computer. Error1068 The dependency service or group failed to start" The dependecy service is lanman wokrstation netbios RpcSS.
This is awindows 2000 server running citrix.
How do I resolve this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The link below does not help becaus the executable is there. Everything is there that is needs but it doesnt seem to see it. If I delete the service from the registry how am I going to get it reinstalled? Also we never removed the services to begin with we never touched the netbios services. Thanks

Try opening the Registry (use Regedit) and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
Click the NetBIOS key. Look at the value for Image Path. That should be pointing to the SYS file that runs NetBIOS. Now, make sure your system has that file in the directory specified. If not, get it and put it there (extract it from the service pack)

hope this helps

have you tried to remove the SPs? or even reinstalling them? That would be the best solution (to my knowledge)
