I’m running NT 4.0 SP6a on a PDC and a BDC on a network with 11 Win98SE clients and I’m not tied in to any other domains (my domain is name ABC).
I had a PDC named ABCFS_01. I then installed a BDC named ABCFS_02 and promoted it to the PDC. All computers are able to access all resources on both servers and everything works fine on the network.
However, I’m getting a name conflict on ABCFS_01 (which used to be the PDC and is now just an app server and secondary WINS). The following is it’s NetBIOS name table:
ABCFS_01 <00> UNIQUE Registered
ABCFS_01 <20> UNIQUE Registered
ABC <00> UNIQUE Registered
ABC <1C> GROUP Conflict
ABC <1E> GROUP Registered
ABCFS_01 <03> UNIQUERegistered
GLOBAL ADMIN <03> UNIQUE Registered
This is the only name conflict that is on my network. I have no users with names beginning with ABC. Is the fact that my domain is named ABC and I have two servers beginning with ABC causing aname conflict on my network?
