Ok here’s the situation. Win 2000 laptop running Microsofts’s Netware Client Service. The machine used to log into an NT domain at a customers site but now the domain no longer exists (start-up Co.) In any case when this guy used his laptop away from the office he still attempted to login to the domain but it eventually timed out (No PDC, BDC avaiable – used cached settings I guess) and still got in to local wkstation. The problem is now that the domain is gone AND he does not know any local user’s passwords we can not get into the laptop with Administrative right – he gets a message – “Unable to log bcs. the netlogon service is not running on this machine.”
I did some research on this and it sounds like the Client Service for NetWare is starting before netlog on but I can’t fix it – NO rights to local machine.
*We can log on using an old domain user that has no Admin rts. but can not edit registry or disable CSNW. I have already attempted to crack the SAM using LophtCrack but no luck.
Any ideas on how to get into this machine with Admin rights??? Tons of apps. and docs.
