NetMeeting Error

By PEKO ·
I am using WinXP Pro with all MS updates. When activating Netmeeting (start-run-conf)I receive the error message "windows cannot find 'conf'". I have compaired my PC to another identical PC and the files in the netmeeting folder are the same. When I try to run netmeeting from the netmeeting folder I see the netmeeting splash and then it quits. The first time however I am prompted to input my user information, after that I only see the netmeeting splash. The task manager will show conf.exe open and then close. I have tried disabling the XP firewall with the same results. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Try the full path instead:
c:\Program Files\NetMeeting\conf.exe

using the full path has the same result as navigating to the netmeeting folder and double clicking conf.exe. Just a netmeeting splash screen. thank you though.

Good luck

Up to today everything that I have read indicated that netmeeting could not be uninstalled or reinstalled in WinXP. After your response I figured there must be a way. There is. I found it on xphelpandsupport.mvps.org. Thanks for your help.
