I have netmeeting set up on two computers in my office and it the latency for the audio signal is .5 sec which is very noticiable. I have even connected the computers using a cross-connect cable and the latency is still there. Both computers are PIIs 300 Mhz with 96Mb/128Mb ram, one has a creative sound card and the other a built-in (it’s a Fujitsu laptop). Is this much latency just to be expected or is there something I can do to improve the performance?
