    Netware 4.1 to 4.11 upgrade

What is the best way to upgrade a NW4.1 to 4.11 from one box to another across the wire. We have more 4.11 licenses than 4.1 and the server that the 4.1 currently resides on has no more HD expansion. We have tried the DSrepair (copy) option in conjunstion with Arcserve with no success. It seems the copy fails because it does not copy over the bindery printer queues. NW 5 had the migration tools but none exist, to the best of my knowledge, for nw4.x. HELP

Have you looked at TID#2934033? Pretty comprehensive. Have used it before and worked fine, just make sure you perform all the planning they recommend.

You could always get a bigger Hard drive and a copy of Server Magic….and then copy the smaler drive to a bigger drive. If you are using IDE you could remove one from the server (I assume 4 drives) and put the larger one in…User server magic to copy one of the remaining drives (not sys or dos) then remove the small drive and put small drive removed to make room for the large and your server should have plenty of room and all the volumes will be the same. If SCSI and I will assume 7 devices.. Remove a drive again and put a larger one it its place. Copy the data with server magic from a third and then remove the drive you copied the data from and replace it with the drive first removed…….Server Magic works wonders and when you upgrade to 5.X you will probably need it to increase space on the sys volume or the dos volume….Good Luck….Chuck
